To kick off my summer I traveled to NYC for a few weeks which was absolutely amazing! One of the best parts of traveling is seeing all the different foods each place has to offer. New York has endless amounts of amazing, picture worthy foods so I decided to document some of my favorites! Most of these places were new to me but a few were repeats because the food was that good!
These are the soup-dumplings from Joe’s Shanghai! They may look like normal dumplings but these are filled with delicious, warm broth. I always make sure to take a trip here every time i’m in the city!
One of my personal favorite pizza places in NY is Lombardi’s Pizza! You can tell its good just by the line out the door and the jammed packed seating rooms. They have lots and lots of different pizzas but I kept it simple and went with the Margarita!
Eataly is a super fun Italian marketplace, owned by Mario Batal and filled with lots of food vendors. The Nutella bar is filled with all things Nutella, including Crepes and ice cream galore. I got the chocolate sorbet with Nutella drizzle.
Holey Cream is a small little shop in the Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood that puts a whole new twist on your typical donut! You can either choose to build “Your Dream Donut” or go all out and get the ” Outrageous Donut Ice cream Sandwich”. I went with the donut sandwich which was way bigger than I could’ve ever expected! I picked the strawberry icing with neon pink sprinkles (hoping for a picture to match my instagram feed) and for the ice cream I went with Red Velvet since it’s my favorite! The outcome;best donut I’ve ever had!
Waffles and Dinges is a small stand in Central Park but don’t let the small setup fool you, these are the best waffles ever! Pictured is the Belgian waffles pilled with strawberries, powdered sugar, and whipped cream. This is before I spilt whipped cream all over my dress but hey, its worth it! There are also a few other locations around the city!
Chelsea market has so many good vendors that your bound to find something good wherever you go! Los Taco is right in the center of Chelsea, hard to miss it. I got 2 tacos, one being “Carne Asada” (grilled steak), the other “Pollo Asado” (grilled chicken). I’m not a fan of toppings on my tacos but I thought I’d do what they recommended! They were so good! Theres a long line for a reason.
This shop wasn’t on my original list but I just so happened to stumble upon it in SOHO! I’m so glad I did because I love rice pudding but I didn’t think it came in any more flavors than vanilla. Rice to Riches has 31+ flavors of pudding and all are equally as good! Pictured is chocolate chip and Oreo. My personal favorite is the Oreo.
Big Gay Ice Cream started as an ice cream truck but due to such high success rates they were able to open 2 new store fronts! They have all different types of ice cream treats! I got the “Cinnamax” ice cream sandwich which was 2 snickerdoodle cookies with a cinnamon ice cream in the middle! My mom ordered the Vanilla soft serve with rainbow sprinkles but of course I had to steal it for a quick picture! It was busy inside but the staff moved quickly so everyone got in and out!
Trip #2 to Eataly I went for lunch and got a panini! I ordered the “Calabrese” and was surprised how good it was!
“The Bagel Store” became an internet frenzy a few months back so I felt compelled to go and see what all the rave was about! These are some of the prettiest bagels I’ve ever seen. Although the bagel doesn’t taste like much, the prettiness makes up for it.
Maison Kayser is the best ladies brunch place on the Upper East Side! It has a variety of french selections ranging from savory to sweet. I tried something new this time and got the “Croque Madame” which is house-smoked ham, Momay Sauce and Gruyere cheese topped with a sunny-side up egg (center picture). The other two pictures are “Financiers” in the flavors Pistachio, Hazelnut, and Raspberry, which we all split three ways!
Hope you enjoyed my food adventures from NYC! Let me know where your favorite places to go are while your in the city!
